About

Guiding principles: "Be kind: everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." - Ian Maclaren

"If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion." - The Dalai Lama

All problems are people problems.

Let go or be dragged.

Academically trained with 17 years of experience participating in and producing The Partially Examined Life, a popular philosophy podcast. 25 years in tech product marketing and management. I believe human self-consciousness is an existential form of alienation that is the source of immense pain, destruction and suffering. It is to be overcome not through individual transcendence or enlightenment but empathy, community and creativity.

If you cannot communicate a complex idea to a lay audience, you don't understand it well enough. You must accept the other as they are, identify their values and learning modalities, and meet them where connection is possible. The Self is a narrative we tell ourselves: thus story telling is the primal form of relating to others and helping them relate to themselves.

The greatest gift you can give the world is to create the space for love, growth, and connection to occur. With your children, family, friends, audiences. That is the aim of this "Seth". Talk to me about philosophy, meaning, values, morals, expression, creativity - anything that is truly important to being human.
