Ruggero Lensi

I was born in 1965 and I graduated in Civil Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. Since 1995 I have been working at UNI – Ente Italiano di Normazione (Italian Standards Body). After starting out as a Technical Officer in the construction sector, from 2000 to 2010 I was Head of Standardization Activities and Technical Director. I represented Italy at European level in CEN/BT and at international level in ISO/TMB. From 2010 to 2016 I was Director of External Relations, Development and Innovation, dealing with institutional communication, relations with stakeholders and strategic projects. Since 2014 I have represented UNI in the CEN Board. Since February 2017 I have been Director General and lead the governance, social, environmental and operational innovation process of technical standardization, with a view to sustainability and digitalization of processes. Until 2022 I was Technical Vice-President of CEN where I coordinated the digital transformation project. I am now also member of the ISO Council and the European Champion of the SMART project.
