About

I've spent over 50 years working in the Gulf of Mexico, starting with my first dive on a Texas production platform reef in 1969. I lead the Gulf of Mexico Foundation, active across all eleven Gulf States, and serve as Executive Director at the Texas Institute for Applied Environmental Research. Before that, I built the Texas State Aquarium from concept to opening day. My work spans marine research, environmental policy, underwater film, and international conservation across the Gulf and Caribbean. Ask me about Gulf of Mexico conservation, artificial and natural reef research, building the Texas State Aquarium, and environmental policy in the Gulf States.
