I'm Nir, a geroscientist and chaired Professor of Medicine and Genetics directing the largest Center studying the Biology of Aging. I'm also principal investigator of the Einstein Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in Biology of Aging, and have received an NIH Merit Award for work on extending healthy lifespan in rodents through biological interventions.
I study families of centenarians to understand genetic and biological protection against aging, and some drugs have been developed based in part on these studies. I'm President of the Academy for Health and Lifespan Research, leading efforts to spend time on health rather than diseases by targeting aging biology. I'm an executive with the Longevity Biotech Association, on the board of the American Federation for Aging Research, and involved with initiatives like TAME, SuperAgers, and FAST. I'm author of over 360 peer-reviewed papers and have received several awards. I co-founded CohBar and Lifebiosciences and my book Age Later was published in 2020.
