Matthew Edwards

I'm Matthew Edwards, an experienced actuary who has worked with consultancies and insurers on predictive analytics, longevity, mortality modeling, and demographic risk. I use predictive analytics and generative AI to help clients understand and manage demographic risk better.

Former Chair of the CMI, co-founder of the COVID-19 Actuaries Response Group, and editor of the IFoA's Longevity Bulletin. Previously I was Senior Director at WTW leading UK&I Life proposition and innovation.

I was on IFoA Council 2023-26, where I was elected primarily because of my opposition in 2023 to the proposed governance reforms. While on Council I was the AI lead, helping establish collaboration with CISI, develop the IFoA's AI vision, and get the AI&ET Practice Board going.
