I'm a Managing Director at Madrona, where I've spent the last 25 years partnering with founders building durable, software-driven companies. My focus today is on intelligent and generative applications for the enterprise, and on the intersections of innovation — places where life science meets data science, or where reasoning machines collaborate with humans to do work that was never possible before.

I've been lucky to back companies across multiple tech cycles, from the rise of the internet and SaaS, through the cloud, and now into the reasoning revolution. Past investments include Apptio, Isilon, Smartsheet, Accolade, Turi, ExtraHop, OctoML, XetHub, and Vercept. Current bets include Amperity, Read AI, Gradial, MotherDuck, EdgeRunner AI, A-Alpha Bio, Synthesize Bio, and more.

Before Madrona I was VP of Business Process at Genuine Parts Company, an engagement manager at McKinsey, and an investment banker at Credit Suisse. I'm on the boards of the Allen Institute and Washington Policy Center, and I'm a former chair of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
