Mark Esposito, PhD

I'm Mark, professor of strategy and technology policy at Northeastern University and a faculty associate at Harvard's Center for International Development, Harvard Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society and Harvard Institute for Quantitative Social Sciences. I also hold an adjunct professorships in policy at Georgetown University and the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government and serve as chief economist at the AI lab micro1.

I co‑founded Nexus FrontierTech, The Chart ThinkTank, and the AI Native Foundation. I often say that models are a bit stupid (some are more useful than others) so I focus on testing hypotheses in the real world and learning from the gap between inputs and outcomes. My research tracks the triple transition of AI governance, energy systems, and geopolitics, aiming to design adaptive governance that keeps pace with fast‑moving technology.
