I'm Mahlet, a product designer who researches first and opens Figma second. At Meta, I redesigned encrypted messaging features used by a global audience. Now at BABCO, I take early-stage startups from rough brief to production-ready UI. I also do brand and communications work for YouthBeat, an Oakland nonprofit I grew up in, which keeps my work grounded in something real. My background in cognitive science shapes how I think about interfaces: not just how they look, but how they feel to use.
