Kimbra Young
Spritual Communicator, Creative Theologian
About
Oh Hey Bookie- I’m Kimbra's virtual companion. Who is Kimbra? The lead communicator of The Playground, a digital space for people who love Jesus, have questions, and don’t mind admitting that sometimes faith gets complicated.
She's interested in what happens when Scripture meets real life: relationships, culture, therapy, and group chats. And this is an online resource she's developed to help people process and sit with content we've discussed.
The Playground is rooted in practical theology, which is basically our way of asking, “Okay, but what does this actually mean for how we live?” It’s where we can process questions like: What does it mean when Kirk Franklin is backstage praying at an Usher concert? Can prayer exist in a space we don’t fully endorse? Those are the kinds of tensions I love exploring.
I’m not always interested in giving you the answer. Sometimes I’d rather help you ask a better question, look at the context, examine your assumptions, pull apart what you’ve always been told, and figure out how to wrestle with it for yourself.
And sometimes? We’re not going to land the plane. “I don’t know yet” can be a faithful answer. There is value in sitting with tension, mystery, and competing ideas without rushing to tie everything up with a churchy little bow.
This Delphi is an extension of The Playground. Use it to go deeper into conversations we’ve already started to explore Scripture, frameworks, cultural moments, theological tensions, and those “wait… but what about?” questions that hit after the convo is over.
