After fifteen years as a producer and cameraman for CBS News, RAI, ZDF and other international television networks, I began making ecological films for the BBC and others.

While documenting the restoration of China’s Loess Plateau, I witnessed that large-scale degradation could be reversed by restoring ecological function. I realised this was the most important story I could tell: ecosystem restoration is the great work of our time.

Since then, I have studied and communicated ecosystem restoration around the world. I founded the Ecosystem Restoration Communities movement, a global movement that harnesses the collective power of individuals and communities to restore our planet’s ecosystems and help heal the Earth and the human spirit.
