James Hype

DJ and Producer from Liverpool, UK. James discovered DJing at 15 years old and taught himself to mix with his Mum’s vinyl collection. He found work in bars and clubs around Liverpool when he was 18. After a few years of DJing he discovered music production and set out on a mission to make the music he wishes existed for his DJ sets. James had his first commercial success in 2017 when his track ‘More Than Friends’ hit the charts across Europe. In 2018 James started to get recognition for his DJ skills, featuring in official videos by equipment manufacturer ‘Pioneer DJ’. James continued to go viral around the internet with his famous ‘One More Time x Losing It’ transition. In 2020 James reached millions of people around the world with his live stream series. Famously streaming from his kitchen to the world twice a week over a two year period. In 2021 James released ‘Ferrari’ a record named as the biggest dance record of the year, it has more than 2 billion streams and is platinum in more than 10 countries. James tours the world and documents this in his weekly Youtube series ‘Moving Differently’. He is a prolific producer and a pioneer of ‘Real DJing’, pushing back against the wave of pre-recorded DJ sets. James is the founder of record and clothing label STEREOHYPE.
