David Kessler shares his belief in an afterlife after losing his son, using a parable of two unborn twins debating whether life exists beyond the womb. One twin sees only darkness and an ending; the other senses a mother's presence suggesting something continues. Kessler doesn't claim to know how it works, only that reunion is possible.

  1. If you're watching this video right now, this message is specifically for you. Now that my younger son David has died, do I think we'll somehow be together again in the next place? I do. How will that work? I have no clue. But I want to share a story from my book Finding Meaning that I wrote after he died. In a mother's womb, there were two babies. The first baby asked the other, Do you believe in life after this world, the womb? And the second baby replied, why, of course. There has to be something after this. Nonsense, said the first baby. There is no life after this world. What would life be? The umbilical cord gives us our nutrition. Life after this world would be impossible. The umbilical cord is too short. There can't be a world after this one. The second baby held its ground and said, "I think there is something, and maybe it's different than here. Maybe we'll see each other there." The first baby replied, "If there is another world, no one has ever come back from there. Leaving here, I think, has to be the end of life, and after delivery, there will be nowhere to go and nothing but darkness." "Well, I don't know," said the other twin, "but certainly we'll see Mother and she'll take care of us. Mother? The first baby goffed. You believe in a mother? An all-powerful, intelligent being that makes all this happen? Where is she now? The second baby calmly and patiently tried to explain. Mother is all around us. It is in her that we live. Without her, there would not be a world. Ha! I don't see her. It's only logical she doesn't exist. To which the other baby replied, "Sometimes when you're in silence, you can hear her. You can feel her." I believe there is a reality after this world. Follow me for more insights and information.
