About
I'm Hal Scott. I spent over four decades at Harvard Law School and Kennedy School teaching , international finance, and the underlying architecture of the financial system.
Today I lead a nonpartisan research group focused on the soundness and competitiveness of U.S. capital markets, and I continue to teach. My work has centered on understanding what actually causes financial crises and what it takes to prevent the next one.
