Gil Chandler

I'm Gil, a financial planner who carries a family name with roots in Detroit finance. My grandfather co-founded First of Michigan and was longtime chairman. He and my uncle did investments; I ended up in financial planning, the thing they never built.

My father got me into travel with our first trip to Europe, which led to years of trips together and eventually running a company that took high school students to France. Mostly I think about what makes a good life, what my father taught me, and where I've gone my own way.
