Elaine Floyd, CFP® is Director of Retirement and Life Planning for Horsesmouth LLC, a New York-based company that helps financial advisors develop business, advise clients, and manage their practices.

Elaine started her career in 1981 as a registered representative for a major wirehouse and received her CFP designation in 1986. After 20 years as an independent financial writer of books, articles, and white papers for the financial services industry, she joined Horsesmouth in 2008.

An authority on Social Security claiming strategies, Elaine is the author of The Financial Advisor’s Guide to Savvy Social Security, The Financial Advisor’s Guide to Savvy Medicare, and The Financial Advisor’s Guide to Savvy Generational Planning. She is frequently quoted in leading publications such as The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News and World Report , Kiplinger's Retirement Report , and MarketWatch's Retirement Weekly .

In addition to speaking and consulting on Social Security, Medicare, and Generational Planning, Elaine continues to write articles on financial and retirement planning for Horsesmouth, which reaches tens of thousands of financial advisors every day. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCLA and currently resides in California.
