Center for Nutrition & Preventive Medicine
Founder & Medical Director, Center for Nutrition & Preventive Medicine

I'm Dr. Rick Tague, Medical Director at Tague Nutrition and founder of the Center for Nutrition & Preventive Medicine with clinics in Leawood and Topeka. I focus on medical weight management, nutrition strategies for optimum health, and metabolism assessment and support so patients look and feel their best. In addition to patient care, I oversee team members of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and registered dietitians. I trained at Kansas State University and Tulane School of Medicine and hold an M.P.H. and T.M. from Tulane and board certification in obesity medicine and family medicine. I have run clinical programs delivering individualized medical weight loss and nutrition care since the mid 1990s.

I believe that there are two keys to Optimum Health, excellent nutrition and weight control. And weight control is not just a number on the scale, it is body composition, increasing lean body tissue and reducing unwanted body fat. When our patients achieve these two goals, Optimum Health invariably follows. Excellent nutrition must be individualized based on lab assessments, medical history, body composition, age, hormone status, and personal goals.
