As a kid I was always making something or selling something - treehouses, go-karts, customized motocross bikes, converting a shed into a theater (and producing shows), mini-Bic pens, candy to my neighbors. I worked full time to put myself through college - a first in my family. Studied marketing while working in technology sales. At 19 I sold digital phone systems for ATT. I was told not to work so hard. I left to be the 18th employee at a video subscription service for banking training (think Netflix in the 80's!). From there I recruited, placed and managed IT Consultants with Fortune 500's in St. Louis where I got to know a lot of CIO's. I joined a promising startup with 1 client as the VP of Sales (without pay), sold 3 deals in 3 months and then realize that they did not know how to implement! Once i figured that out, the CEO spent all of our funding on a different, unproven use case and it failed. After watching many companies struggle to gain the full value of their expensive and time-consuming enterprise software implementations, I thought: "there has to be a better way". We then invented the worlds first SaaS platform for AP Automation, which no one was ready to buy! So we pivoted to AR for a while, figured out how to make clients happy on-line before the dot-com era and learned how to bootstrap a business. Turns out that enterprises did want to buy SaaS AP after all and we are really good at this. Three decades later we are leading AP into the AI multiverse.
