I'm Charlie, director of partnerships at Clipbook. I spent years in DC as a legislative correspondent for Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz, running education and LGBTQ+ policy and handling communications, then moved to the Biden-Harris and Harris-Walz campaigns where I led grassroots fundraising strategy and communications. After the campaign I left DC, moved back to Pensacola and joined Clipbook, where I help democratic officials and PR firms automate media monitoring with AI, turning a manual "Derek"-style clipping grind into a single curated intelligence report. I fell into sales by accident, and I'm driven by the idea of freeing people like the intern I once was from endless copy-pasting.

A question I get asked pretty frequently is, you know, why did you get into sales? And the question is that I really stumbled into it, which I think most people in sales will say the same thing. If I went back in time and told myself three, four, or five years ago that I'd be doing sales, that would be, you know, I would think I was crazy and didn't think something like that would ever happen. And I'd be working for a political firm or a candidate or some kind of member of Congress. I think this work is really rewarding because I was Derek for so long, I was that poor intern or legislative staffer or comm staffer for Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz that was doing the clips and taking hours and hours of my life each and every day that I could have been spending doing more substantive legislative or communications work that would have further impacted her agenda and doubled the impact that I would have had in my roles.TABSwipe
