Dr. Catherine Shaffer

Dr. Shaffer is a scientist specializing in violence risk assessment and management, adolescent offending, and intimate partner violence, with over 130 disseminations. She holds roles in both public safety and academia, where her work focuses on developing evidence-based approaches to understanding, assessing, and managing criminal behavior. Her research has contributed to risk assessment and management practices implemented with thousands of individuals. Dr. Shaffer is also the founder of Shaffer Research and Statistical Consulting.

In 2021, she received the Christopher Webster Early Career Award for significant early career contributions to the forensic mental health field.
