About

I'm Amanda, currently serving as Interim Head of School at Compass High School Bay Area, a school built specifically for neurodivergent students. I lead academics, faculty development, and school culture with one goal: making sure every learner is understood and challenged, not just accommodated. Before Compass, I spent nearly a decade on the founding team at Understood.org, where I helped grow it from a small initiative to a resource reaching 20 million visitors. I'm neurodivergent myself, and that shapes everything I do. Ask me about supporting neurodivergent students and families, UDL and inclusive school design, and translating learning research into real classroom practice.
