I'm Abdul, chairman of Agile Angels.
I grew up on Detroit's West and East Sides in a lower-middle-class household, learning to be independent and take care of myself by age sixteen after my mom parented from a distance. That forced independence drives my belief that ownership is the clearest route to financial freedom, especially for Black folks who have been left behind by the system.
I’m a movie buff - especially the early Marvel films - love working out, traveling, and still enjoy taking the kinds of risks most people avoid. I often say a 401k is keeping you poor, which makes for a good conversation starter.
