Dr. Aaron Hartman’s journey into integrative and functional medicine began after adopting his daughter, Anna, in 2007, when traditional medicine offered limited options for her condition. This personal experience led him to explore alternative treatments, which he soon began incorporating into his clinical practice with transformative results. In 2012, he joined the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine (ABIHM) and the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), earning certifications in both areas by 2015.
His interest in nutritional and ecological medicine deepened after moving to a farm in Virginia, where he recognized the profound connections between health, the environment, and food. In 2017, Dr. Hartman founded Richmond Integrative & Functional Medicine, where he combines his extensive medical knowledge with a personalized, holistic approach to patient care.
